Position SummaryResponsible for assisting the Emergency Management Coordinator with the development, implementation, coordination, and maintenance of various emergency preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation activities for the Lewisville Emergency Management Program.

24Essential Functions Responsible for maintaining and processing information for Homeland Security grants, Hazard Mitigation grants, and other emergency management grants as applicable.
Reconciles available grant funds with program expenditures.
Assists with initiatives to educate, train, and exercise City personnel to help prepare for disaster and ensure response readiness, to include the facilitation and delivery of emergency management related trainings and exercises.
Assists in the management and operation of the City emergency warning program to include the Outdoor Warning System (OWS) sirens, the emergency notification system and other systems.
Assists with public education presentations/seminars; manages Office of Emergency Management social media accounts, websites and web-based forms.
Responds to and assists with emergency threats and incidents, as appropriate.
Performs emergency management coordination and support activities during incidents and events.
Maintains Emergency Operations Center (EOC) equipment, and assists and supports EOC activities.
Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsEducation Associate's Degree, Two-Year's of College required or equivalent combination of education and experience in Emergency Management, Public Safety, or grant administration.
Experience Minimum of 1 year of in emergency management, emergency response and/or public safety related field.
Experience in municipal government is preferred.
Experience with Homeland Security Grants preferred.
Experience with Everbridge Citizens alerts systems preferred.
Any combination of related, education, experience, certifications, and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job is an acceptable substitute for the above specified education and experience requirements.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIESKnowledge Knowledge of principles and practices of emergency management.
Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Knowledge of procedures and terminology related to the emergency services industries.
Knowledge of the Incident Command System (ICS).
Knowledge of basic principles and practices of public administration.

Ability to follow instructions, safety practices and standard operating guidance in performing assigned tasks.

Special Requirements Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug test.
May be subject to emergency call back or extended work hours in response to emergency situations.
Must possess a valid State of Texas Driver's License Class C and good driving record as defined by City policy.
An applicant who does not possess a Texas Driver's License or proper class, will be allowed ten (10) working days after a job offer is made to obtain proper licensing.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
