Vehicle Description 1972 Chevy Camaro SS 396/402 Presented By:
GARRETT CLASSICS classic and collector car sales and consignment 1865 McGee Lane, Ste F Lewisville,TX 75077 Call Maris at 214-616-2317 or Dave at 214-213-7072 We are very proud to present this extremely nice 72 Camaro SS 396.
This car is said to be a 402.
In 72 the 402 and 396 both used the same block.
If a 402 was ordered, the 396 block was bored to a 402 which gave it a bit more horsepower.
The U in the VIN# of this car shows that is a true big block SS.
Features Include:
SS 396 (402) #s Matching Muncie 4 Speed Transmission Power Steering Power Brakes Discs Front Drums Rear Mulsanne Blue ( original color) This is a really nice Camaro.
We found a few very tiny flaws on this car.
The current owner purchased it as you see it, so we aren't sure just how long ago the restoration was done.
As you can see, the under sides of the doors are really clean.
The interior is in excellent condition.
The dash looks as it did originally, as well as the rest of it.
The only flaw we can see is the stitching on the drivers seat is starting to pull apart at one seam.
The owner said the interior is said to be mostly original.
Two minor items we did find, are the clock not working and the lighter missing.
Whoever did the restoration on this Camaro, did a very nice job.
You can see the door jams are excellent.
This is one area that can sometimes be missed.
We also have the Protect - O - Plate and original dealer bill of sale as well as the original title.
The big block engine sits in a very clean engine compartment.
Again, the restorer did a very nice job on this car.
There's no need to tell the Camaro guys out there how nice these 72 SS 396's were.
This car performs well and is a real pleasure to drive.
The block numbers are clear and show the correct numbers to prove this is a real SS 396/402 and that is is matching to the VIN#.
The trim tag shows the car to have been built in Norwood, Ohio and that it was a Mulsanne Blue with black interior from the factory.
It was built in the 2nd week of November.
It also had a black vinyl top when it was first built.
The VIN# as well as the trim tag show that this car is the true SS396 and the block is stamped with the CTA code denoting the 396/402 block from a 1972 Camar, and has the last 6 of the VIN showing it to be the original engine.
You can see the core support is solid and totally rust free just like the rest of the car.
This is really one very nice Camaro.
You really need to come and take a look at it in person.
The paint is really nice on the car.
The body is straight and it appears to be all original sheet metal.
Again, please feel free to call Maris at 214-616-2317 or Dave at 214-213-7072.
We can also assist with financing and shipping.
