Vehicle Description 1971 Plymouth Cuda Tribute PRESENTED BY GARRETT CLASSICS classic and collector car sales and consignment 1865 McGee Lane, Ste F Lewisville, TX 75077 Call Maris at 214-616-2317 We are very happy to present this very nice 1971 Plymouth Baracuda Cuda tribute.
From the factory, this was a 383 Baracuda with a heavy duty automatic 727 transmission.
The car is now powered by a year correct 440 ci V-8 and a Richmond 6 speed tranny.
The good news is, if a buyer really wanted to bring this back to original, the owner has the original unrestored, matching numbers 383 short block.
In 1971, there were only 9 Baracuda convertibles built with 383 4bbls with auto transmissions which is what this car was from the factory.
It is actually 1 of the 9 built.
As for Cuda convertibles in 1971 there were only 143 total, not counting the Hemi Cudas.
This car was restored and built just over 25 years ago.
The current owner has owned it since that time.
There were changes made, of course, to make the car a Cuda.
Along with the engine, the original transmission was changed as well.
We'll list all of the features below.
FEATURES NOW INCLUDE:
Date correct 440 ci V-8 Purple Dot Cam Edlebrock Intake Holley 750 Carb TTI Ceramic Headers Griffin Triple Core Radiator Richmond 6 Speed Manual Transmission Correct Hurst Shifter Centerforce Clutch Poly/KYB Shocks/ Sway Bars Police Firm Feel Steering Box 8 3/4 (489) Differential w/ 373:
1 gears Power Trax Frictionless Sure Grip Front Disc Brakes/Drums Rear w/Proportioner Tic Toc Tach Mopar Electronic Ignition 1970 Plymouth Tuff Wheel Steering Wheel AM/FM CD Stereo The color of choice at the time of the build was Curious Yellow.
You will see in the photos, the different colors this paint takes on in different light.
The car was originally Autumn Bronze Metallic.
The shop that built this car was the shop in El Paso ,TX that built the cars for the Nash Bridges TV show back in the1990s.
They had several assorted Baracuda doner cars and not only did they do the TV show cars, but they would build a car for private customers as well.
This is one of those cars.
If you have been watching the Plymouth Baracudas and Cudas in the past few years, you will notice there are very few 1971 Cuda convertibles out there on the market right now.
Even the 383 Baracudas in the convertible models are hard to find.
A real matching numbers Cuda convertible is bringing anywhere from $700,000.
to $1,000,000.
A 383 Baracuda convertible just sold recently for over $200,000.
After 25 years, the owner says he has had little if any repairs to do on the car.
Looking closely at our photos, you can see the condition this car is in after all of these years.
Everything is working on the car.
The car starts every time and runs great.
There are no leaks and the engine is solid.
There is no smoke at all from the exhausts.
Stepping into the car is like going back to 1971.
The interior is in excellent condition after 25 years.
The undersides of the doors are totally free from rust.
The car had 77,000 miles on the odometer when the owner purchased it for restoration.
The odometer was set back to zero when the 440 engine was installed and the odometer now displays the actual miles put on by the owner, 4021.
The convertible top works well, and it is in very good condition.
The back window is glass.
All of the seals on the car are like new.
There appears to be a bit of Bondo on the driver's side rocker panel area.
It appears to be confined to this area.
The car rides on Rally wheels that are 15x8 in the rear and 15x7 in the front.
There are these few bubbles on the passenger side rear quarter panel.
This is your opportunity to own a really outstanding Plymouth Baracuda Cuda tribute which has the ability to be brought back to it's original state if you choose to.
Please give us a call to discuss the car further.
I would also like to mention that in 15 years of selling classics, and having sold hundreds of cars, this is only the second E body Plymouth Baracuda or Cuda we have ever had in inventory.
The other one was the actual Nash Bridges TV car that Don Johnson drove in the TV series.
Again please feel free to call Maris at 214-616-2317 with questions.
I can also help with financing and shipping.
